Victoria invests $15 Million in manufacturing innovation, advancing circular economy


In Australia, the Victorian Minister for Jobs & Industry has announced businesses that have been awarded grants under the $15 million Made in Victoria Industry R&D Infrastructure Fund to expand manufacturers’ R&D capability.

The fund supports critical industries such as new energy, health technology, food, manufacturing, defense and aerospace, and advanced technology, which are priority sectors identified in the government’s Made in Victoria: 2030 Manufacturing Statement.

“We are investing in local industry’s R&D capability because it will have ripple effects across Victoria’s manufacturing sector, beyond fast-tracking innovative solutions to complex problems. It will help create new high-skilled jobs and fuel economic growth” - Natalie Hutchins, Victoria’s Minister for Jobs and Industry.

Local manufacturing plays an important role in Australia’s move towards a circular economy, investment is key to increasing local capacity to find high-value uses from our waste resources, including end-of-life tyres.
